Every Italian who live in Shanghai know Da Marco. They now have more than one branch in the city, but the original location is the best. Da Marco's is one of the few solid Italian restaurants which does not charge an arm and a leg in town. The owner/chef Marco opened this place nearly 20 years ago, he is the pioneer who was brave enough to introduce Italian cusine to thechinese society, his restaurant has been an institution for decades promoting authentic Italian cusine and chefs, also deeply loved by all the Italian expats, some even name it 'little Italy' in shanghai. During our last visit, we had a proper mussels and clams pot, an interpretation of the cacio e pepe, and very good chicken with vegetables and potatoes. The wine list is well structured, the atmosphere is lively and relaxed.
