When did you decide to pursue this career and how did you get started?

During a performance in second grade I was the cook Chichibio in the Decameron, the one who lied about the disappearance of a roasted crane thigh because of the love of a woman. I liked wearing a costume and making someone feel good through my work…I also had a nanny who helped me bake cakes from the age of four…

What is your favorite cuisine?  How would you describe yours?

Having lived in hotels for four years now and eating out for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, I love home cooking.  It is simple and genuine and I miss the real flavors of vegetables, ham from the farmer near home, flavorful tomatoes from my grandfather’s garden…if I have to choose, my favorite is raw fish with a little seasoning, for instance, a dish of marinated or steamed carpaccio or sushi.  Some crispy vegetables on the side and citrus fruits and desserts that aren’t sweet.  Above all I love a person with whom I can share the pleasures of food, I hate to eat alone and I do it every day.

Tell us about your debut on the Gambero Rosso Channel.

It was random…I was called (by chance) for an audition in Milan for a Mediaset production and during the pilot episode the Gambero Rosso representative, Flavia Cercato (a friend of mine and a wonderful performer) asked me, “Is this really the first time that you are in front of a camera?  You know that you could try to cook on stage for Gambero Rosso.”  I replied that I might not be qualified enough but that I would try.  I may be an exhibitionist but I enjoyed it…I started with four recipes for Panino Amore Mio, then cooking Christmas dishes…then I received a phone call: “Would you like a program of your own?”  So here I am!
