Who We Are
After the successful launch of Città Del Gusto in Rome, Gambero Rosso extended its vision to the South of Italy and launched another Città in Naples in 2008. The project was developed together with the Città della Scienza to promote and pay homage to Italy’s culinary and oenological heritage. At Città Del Gusto food and wine become an experience. Situated in the heart of the formerly industrial region of Coroglio, design is prominent and the Città features contemporary furniture and modern show kitchens. Time is taken here to savor the best productions of the “Belpaese” expertly developed by the chefs of Gambero Rosso.
Gambero Rosso’s focus has always been to cultivate knowledge and appreciation of gourmet cuisine and fine wine. Città Del Gusto provides the right environment to bring together food and wine enthusiasts and is ideal for hosting large events such as wine tastings, culinary gatherings, and press conferences.
Città Del Gusto is a Tavern at lunch and a Wine Bar in the evening, a Pizzeria, Cafè, and also home to cooking schools and wine tastings.
Wine Terrace & Wine Bar
An expansive space spanning a thousand square meters on two levels, the rooms contains refined, minimalist furniture and features large windows and a terrace which offers a breathtaking view of the sea. In the evening it functions as a cooking workshop of contemporary Mediterranean cuisine, directed by chef Anthonio Russo who values simple cuisine made of high quality ingredients which are seasonally available. It has an extensive wine list that is constantly updated to bring about different tasting experiences and has the choice between a menu à la carte and a wine tasting menu.
The Wine Bar is open Wednesday through Saturday evenings and on Saturday and Sunday for lunch. During the summer, from 19.00 to 20.30, the Wine bar becomes an exclusive space for Happy Hour. Delicious cocktails and glasses of wine are accompanied by gourmet appetizers at a special price.
The Tavern, open from October 1st for lunch on Saturday and Sunday, features a friendly and informal environment which specializes in traditional dishes, offering a perfect for relaxed lunches among family or with colleagues. Run by chef Giovanni Pastore, the delicate and skilled executor of typical dishes within the Neapolitan culinary tradition, the dishes are made using high quality ingredients, short cook times, and reveal deep culinary expertise.

The Pizzeria, open Wednesday through Saturday evenings, is a sociable environment which offers authentic Neapolitan pizza: fragrant and light by allowing the yeast to rise for 24 hours and available in several variations.
It is run by master pizza chef Michele Leo, a student of Gabriele Bonci and connoisseur of the art of leavening dough.
The Coffee Congress
The Coffee Congress is the refreshment stand centrally located inside the Congressi di Città della Scienza building. It offers quick snacks, coffee, and light lunches to enjoy during a break between conferences and events.
The Champagne Bar
The exclusive Champagne club will familiarize you with the best Champagne Houses of France.
The cooking and wine tastings classrooms are fully equipped with individual workstations so elaborate dishes can be prepared. The course catalogue is full of options for amateurs and professionals, open to any type of individual passionate about food and wine who wishes to begin or deepen their knowledge. The classes reveal the unmistakable gourmet touch of the teachers of Gambero Rosso and professional chefs with ties to the editorial group.
Città Del Gusto, as well as offering cooking courses, wine tastings and entertainment, is the ideal location to host large interactive events, wine and food related meetings, events, press conferences, conventions, team building activities and personalized interactive events.
Our staff is trained to organize every aspect of your event, from the initial conception of the event to its arrangement and final details.
Città Del Gusto brings together public entities, companies, and tour operators by conducting team building exercises through cooking and wine classes, wine tastings, and other food and wine related events. Courses can be customized to the needs of the businesses and provide placement for each student under the supervision of the Chef instructors.
All the students learn to collaborate in a natural way by cooking directly, eating what they prepare, and interacting with each other and the Chef in the classroom of the kitchen.
