A seductive terrace that traps the sun and looks out peacefully over London's chimney pots, a tasty cuppa in your hands and music in the background. What could be better than this? If you really want to escape far from the Central London hustle and bustle for a relaxing break then don’t miss The Rooftop Kitchen, a contemporary cafe with panoramic views at the 4th floor of Alfie’s market, one of the best antiques market in the Capital.
Opened the last April after a three week total renovation,The Rooftop Kitchen is a café with a vintage twist set in an exciting venue for brunch, lunch, coffee or afternoon tea. Run by the new head chef and manager Maciej Rynkonski, it is a truly hidden gem with a bohemian chic atmosphere, only a few minutes walk from Marylebone station, along Church Street.
“Each item on the menu is cooked from scratch in the open plan kitchen on the premises, made with the freshest ingredients from quality suppliers in London and Oxfordshire farms.”– states Mr. Rynkonski . “We use top quality sausages made from Gloucester Old Spot pork reared at Wykham Park Farm in Oxfordshire. Our bread and pastries are from The Bread Factory and our olives and olive oil from a family owned grove in Cyprus which wins rave reviews from food critics.”
“Maybe it’s because I was trained here in London by several Italian chefs?” he added “But I can’t help but serve delicious high quality food at reasonable prices and great coffee from the Monmouth Coffee Company.”
Their choices range from “Scrumptious bruschettas in our tapas selection” for a tasty “aperitivo” or, Panini with Milano salami, chorizo, buffalo mozzarella & watercress salad for a quick lunch. If you are a real sweet addict don’t miss their Banana honey & pecan loaf served with a double creamy espresso!
